What if I communicate with Smart Candle electronically?

What information does Smart Candle collect?
In order to serve you better, Smart Candle collects and stores your personal information when you: (i) create an account on Smart Candle; (ii) sign up to be notified of special deals like discounts and exclusive offers; or (iii) enter a contest or promotion on our site. An account is created when you do one of following things: make a purchase on Smart Candle or register for an account on Smart Candle. How does Smart Candle use my e-mail address?
Your e-mail address is used to create and identify your account on Smart Candle. Your e-mail address is also used by Smart Candle to correspond with you about any orders that you may place or to notify you with the results of any contests you may have entered. We may also use your e-mail address to notify you about important functionality changes to the Web site, new Smart Candle services and special offers and promotions we think you'll find valuable. We are open from 9am CST to 4pm CST.
Due to the large level of calls we receive each day, you might have to leave us a message and someone will get back to you. Emails are answered within the same day if not within the same hour. We are here to help you in any way we can as your requests and business are very important to us.
Any claims for damages or discrepancies must be submitted to Smart Candle within five (5) business days of receiving your order. You must notify Smart Candle Customer Service by email or phone. Please note that custom orders are final and there are no returns or refunds.
Unopened merchandise may be returned in its original condition within 30 days of receiving your order. A 15% restocking fee will be assessed and you will be given store credit for the remaining amount. All battery operated items must be in NEW UNOPENED CONDITION, NO EXCEPTIONS! If we notice that a box or bag has been opened and resealed, we will not approve a credit for your return!
Please note: If you return any item that has been opened, then the return will not be accepted and if we need to ship the items back to you, then we will have to charge additional shipping charges.
NOTE: Return Authorization Number is required. Email us at info@smartcandle.com or call us at 888.768.2635 to obtain your Return Authorization Number prior to shipping your package back. We can only refund shipping costs and void the restocking charges if the return is a result of our error. Ship back to us via UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail with Insurance, UPS has automatic insurance of $100 included at no additional charge. Save your order tracking number in case we need it.

Damaged Shipments
We carefully pack every order to make sure that it arrives to you undamaged and we have had excellent success in safe deliveries. In the event that your shipment arrives damaged, please follow the steps below:
All orders are shipped via UPS (United Parcel Service) Ground. Other service is available upon special request, but may be subject to certain handling fees etc.
Orders normally ship out same day from our Bloomington, MN warehouse. Depending on where your order is being shipped, it should take between 1-5 business days to arrive. If you need faster shipping, please call us.
You may order online for orders shipped within the United States of America and to Canada only. (All shipping charges are calculated automatically by our Shopping Cart). For volume sales and International inquiries, please contact us at 888.768.2635 so that we may help you. For International Orders other than Canada, we only accept payment via Wire Transfer made out in US Dollars.
All orders of stocked items normally ship same day or next business day, depending when you place your order. Delivery time will depend on product availability and shipping time. Express Deliveries are available at an additional cost upon request. We will make every effort to fill your order and ensure arrival as quickly as possible.
If a product is on backorder, please expect delay of up to 7 business days. Please allow extra time for delivery during holidays. If there is an unusual delay in filling an order, we will notify you by e-mail.
If an ordered item is back ordered, we will notify you via e-mail and send the full order when the back ordered item arrives. Partial order shipment is available upon request by sending an email to info@smartcandle.com.
Continental United States Ground shipping & handling price is $6.95 for the first pound and $0.50 for each additional pound. Canada shipping & handling cost is $12.95 for the 1st pound and $0.95 for each additional pound.
We ship to the address you specify when you place your order. If you give us the wrong shipping address or if you ask UPS to drop off your package at a different address while your package is in transit, you will be charged whatever UPS charges us, which is usually $15.00 per package.
If you refuse a package, then you might lose your right to return because a Return Authorization is required! At our sole discretion, we may approve your return. If approved, any discounts or Free Shipping that was applied to your order will be removed and you will be charged 15% restocking fee on the new amount of the order. You will also be charged an additional shipping expense for the package to be returned to us.
When a package is shipped internationally, the following customs information applies: The cost of the merchandise you order is stated on the customs documentation for all international packages shipped by Smart Candle.com. If your order is a gift, we will mark the package as a "gift" and also state the cost of the order on the customs form. Any customs or import duties are levied only when the order reaches the destination country. Smart Candle has no control over additional charges for customs clearance and these charges are due by the receiving party. You may want to contact your local customs office to obtain further information about customs policies in your country.
All orders over $150 that are to be shipped to an address other than the billing address requires you to fax a copy of a valid picture ID and a signature. Our system might also request an Order Confirmation form to be filled out and faxed back.
